Bankroll discipline: the 5% rule

The #1 rule of successful fantasy cricket: never risk more than 5% of your bankroll on a single contest. This is verified by top 10% students who achieve 35%+ ROI over 90 days.

Bankroll management example: Rs 10,000 bankroll. Max Rs 500 per daily game. Max Rs 1000 per mega contest. Max 3 daily games per day. Withdraw winnings weekly if ROI is positive (>10% week).

Why 5% works: reduces variance, allows recovery from losing streaks (5 losses only 25% bankroll), and prevents emotional decisions. Top winners all follow this rule.

Captain pick strategy: the captain pool

Top players maintain a captain pool of 3-4 options per match, not 1. AI picks + 2-3 differentials give 70%+ accuracy vs 50% for single captain pick.

Captain pool criteria: Tier 1 (form + matchup + pitch all favourable), Tier 2 (form good but matchup or pitch concern), Tier 3 (one weak variable). Pick 3 from Tier 1-2 range.

Vice-captain as insurance: pick your 2nd-best captain as vice. If captain misses due to toss/rest, vice earns 1.5x vs 0x. Top players use vice-captain 80%+ of the time.

Differential picks vs high-ownership picks

Differential picks (under 15% ownership) can give 2-3x ROI in mega contests where high-ownership picks reduce prize pool distribution.

Strategy: enter 1 high-ownership pick + 2-3 differentials in mega contests. Standard picks give lower ROI in GPP (guaranteed prize pool) mega contests.

Contest selection strategy

Start with Rs 1-10 daily games to learn the platform. Move to Rs 100 daily games after 10 wins. Mega contests only after 50+ wins.

Game size should match bankroll discipline: Rs 10K bankroll = Rs 500 max per game, Rs 50K = Rs 2500 max, Rs 1L+ = Rs 5000 max.

Avoid tilt: reduce game size by 50% during 3+ loss streaks. Resume normal after 2 wins. Tilt is the #1 cause of losing streaks.

Contest types and optimal sizing
